General Information:

No more Clippers, just Packards for 1958, but line-up is expanded to four body styles. Two-door hardtop coupe is a new body style for this line. Front bumper lower bar (valence) features even wider grille opening and is body-colored, giving the car a lower appearance. 1957 front fenders get fiberglass pods to house new quad headlamps. Hood and front fenders extended, creating a fish-mouth grille opening. PACKARD letters continue on front-end, but a faux scoop is the only hood ornament - no more hood bird. 1956 Clipper taillights continue, but with fiberglass fin extensions, which feature embossed, gold Mylar applique. Gold-plated Packard script from 1956 Senior Series continues, but only on trunk lid. New wheel covers now feature red hex centers and are designed for 14-inch wheels, which lower the car. - BH
