This shot was taken from behind the office building on East Grand Blvd. This one also shows the massive size of the plant.

 Re: Packard Factory 2007
G'day all, I have been "hooked" on Packards since my first 1937 115C in 1967. I have always had Packards as my everyday drivers and only got into the Seniors thirty years ago. I am still amazed that the site of the Packard Factory has been largely untouched since June 25th 1956 ( when the last Packards/Clippers were assembled). It is hard to imagine another unpolluted site which has been allowed to remain undeveloped for 50 years in a major city. perhaps one of the reasons that the site has not been re-developed sooner is that local developers perceived a "they didn't deserve to die" campaign would arise , or they hoped that Packard enthusiasts would raise a lot of money to preserve the site. When you look at all the broken windows and neglect, what Packard owners organisation would create such a maintenance rod for their backs? Perhaps there will be a Plaque or such. Am I out of left field or what? Peter Toet
