8x10 black and white photograph from negative of Packard Number One from rear showing woman driver in fur coat, hat and gloves, waving and Packard sign on rear of auto. Inscribed on photo back; car completed Nov. 6, 1899, Warren Ohio; Model A, 1-cylinder, 9-horsepower, 71.5-inch wheelbase, 2-person roadster; body by Morgan & Williams, carriage manufacturer, Warren, Ohio. Car appears in same condition as one appearing in Motor Age magazine ca. April 1912.

8x10 black and white photograph from glass negative of 1899 Packard Number One. Inscribed on photo back; completed Nov. 6, 1899, Warren Ohio; Model A, 1-cylinder, 9-horsepower, 71.5-inch wheelbase, 2-person roadster with provision for 2 passengers on dos-a-dos. Body by Morgan & Williams, carriage manufacturer, Warren, Ohio. This photograph taken prior to installation of H-gate shift lever or bulb horn on spade handle steering lever. By the time this car was given to Lehigh University all three running lights (2 side lights, & a light mounted at the front) and the rear seat had long been removed. Photographed outside machine shop of Packard Electric Co., North Ave., Warren, Ohio, probably on Nov. 6, 1899.

8x10 black and white photograph from glass negative of 1899 Packard Number Four or Packard Number Five on country road. Inscribed on photo back; Model A, 1-cylinder, 9-horsepower, 71.5-inch wheelbase, 2-person roadster, fitted with a 2-person dos-a-dos seat mounted on rear deck. Body by Morgan & Williams, Warren, Ohio. Car has H-gate shift box. Cars Number Four and Number Five were almost identical. The latter was sold on Feb. 3, 1900 to George D. Kirkham, a Warren, Ohio businessman residing on Park Ave., one block south of Packard Works.

8x10 black and white photograph from glass negative of chassis of 1899 Packard Number One. Inscribed on photo back; completed Nov. 6, 1899, Warren Ohio; Model A, 1-cylinder, 9-horsepower, 71.5-inch wheelbase, 2-person roadster. Note that the H-gate shift box is in place, having been installed after initial tests of Nov. 1899 (initially there were 2 levers). Photograph was perhaps taken some years after car was built--note less than new condition of engine parts and tires.

Inscribed on photo back; completed Nov. 6, 1899, Warren Ohio; Model A, 1-cylinder, 9-horsepower, 71.5-inch wheelbase, 2-person roadster; body by Morgan & Williams, carriage manufacturer, Warren, Ohio. Car no longer possesses some of its original fittings such as side lights & the one affixed to the center of the front springs, the leather skirt fitted below the seat cushion, and the dos-a-dos seat originally mounted on the rear deck. Retouched photograph before car was restored and given to Lehigh University. Note artwork 'reconstruction' of side panel & louvered door and the incomplete 'reconstruction' of the dash that still indicates the hole at the bottom of the center panel.
