Photo caption on back from Packard News Service the all new 1948 Packard station sedan, with new 'free flow' styling and a new 130-horsepower straight eight engine, is the first such vehicle in the industry to have an all steel body and an all steel top, socially acceptable anywhere, as well as utilitarian, the station sedan has four doors and two full size seats of welded steel tube construction, fine grained hardwood decorates the exterior of the doors, window panels and tail-gate, Packard engineers say the station sedan is a free of rattles as any other closed car.

Photo caption on back from Packard News Service 1948 Packard, over 800 square inches of windshield space in Packard's three all new eights for 1948 provide greater visibility and driving ease than ever before, the 130-horsepower eight (touring sedan shown here) is 'free flow' styled, with no bumps or protrusions, and has five different body types, additional 'high style' of the 1948 design features interiors with new fabrics, color combinations, trim methods, upholstery construction using foam rubber cushions, and many other conveniences.

Inscribed on photo back; 1948 Packard eight deluxe, twenty-second series, model 2211, 8-cylinder, 130-horsepower, 120-inch wheelbase, 6-person club sedan (body type #2262), prototype, note special Golden Anniversary hood ornament offered on twenty-third series Packard models, 1946 Michigan license plate #EL55-18, Packard archives indicate facelift for Clipper was originally planned for twenty-first series, by 1942 the heavier front end and hidden headlights had appeared on a front end only facelift, this evolved to a more streamlined look with unhidden headlamps by 1944, in 1945 artists retouched a photo of a production 1942 Clipper, using the proposed new lines, around the same time the more elaborate custom eight grille work was emerging, finally came the production prototypes, with completely altered fuselage and flow through fenders.
