The Quickel Building (at the SW corner of 6th St. & Central Ave.) and its parking garage (at the NW corner of 6th St. & Gold Ave.) were constructed in the 1920s as a Studebaker dealership (according to this article). | Anthony Earl Oakland Dealership BigKev Dealer Photos 08/14/2007 19:34 2737 0 0.00 (0 votes)Rate this Image
Bernard Maybeck, noted California architect, designed several buildings for Earle C. Anthony. This magnificent showplace on the lake in Oakland was opened ca. 1927. Later it was either sold or leased ca. 1939 and became a Buick dealership. Incredibly it was torn down in the 1960's and the space used for a parking lot. |
