This is a new (to us) shot of the Briggs manufacturing plant, which was built to manufacture aircraft parts for WWII. Briggs later moved Packard auto body production there, and (as you probably know) Packard moved final assembly there for the 1955-'56 model years.

This photo is from the Wayne State Universtity's Virtual Motor City collection.

I visited the Packard factory on October 7, 2007. This is a view of the front of the offices from across East Grand Blvd. It's not hard to imagine what an incredible structure this was in its day.

This view down Concord Street gives an idea of just how huge the Packard complex is.

This shot was taken from behind the office building on East Grand Blvd. This one also shows the massive size of the plant.

Yes, it's true - the Packard factory/corporate headquarters is for sale! You can own a 3,500,000 square foot piece of Packard history for a mere $13,000,000!

This was taken in August 2008. This was not the main front door to the plant, but the one at the East end of the building. This one and the main entrance have now both been removed. the main entrance was sold to the Packard museum in Ohio. I don't know what happened to this one.
