One of our regulars had commented in the past about his interest in Packard fire equipment. I just couldn't pass up this photo from the MSU collection. It's identified as a 1920-22 (Series 3-35) Twin Six with special extended chassis made for the Detroit FD Rescue Squad No. 1 stationed at Antoine and East Larned Street. |

One of the rarest of early Packards is the 1902 Model G with a 2 cylinder opposed engine of 24 hp. Only 4 are believe to have been built and one remains in a private collection. The one pictured was purchased by J.D. Rockefeller's younger brother William. Photo from the Terry Martin Collection and recently distributed by the Eastern Packard Club. |

Here's a pair of photos detailing some of the engine details of John Hovey's 1901 Model C, taken while the car was on display at the CWJ Museum in Bernardsville, New Jersey a few years ago. |

The 7th Series Speedster series coupe-victoria (style 447) and sedan (style 443) are the least-common styles in the series. This Speedster coupe victoria was photographed at the Centennial in Warren in 1999. Rear-mounted spare was to improve performance by saving weight. |

Fred Kanter (in matching pants/shirt) with the Kanter Bros. 734 Speedster, body type #452 (roadster but not the boattail roadster). For those not to familiar with the 7th series Speedster series, they came in 5 body styles, the regular and boattail speedsters, phaeton, sedan, and coupe victoria (a/k/a 2 dr sedan). The Speedsters used the larger engine with special carburetion and manifolding and a special 3.31 rear axle in the smaller series frame with lightweight bodies - muscle cars of the day. |
