Yeah I think for the pan in the car people say to remove the flywheel cover. Pretty sure you can just take it off, except I forget if that's where the rear motor mount is.

There's instructions in the service manual for what exactly needs done to remove the pan in the car.

'55 400. Needs aesthetic parts put back on, and electrical system sorted.
'55 Clipper Deluxe. Engine is stuck-ish.

Motor in car. I’m hitting flywheel with the pan as I diagonal it out.

Can you post a photo of what it's hitting?

On my Hash 320 I was able to lift it clean off. Though with the motor out of the car.

I agree with Kev. It may be noted that the purpose of the relay is twofold:

- to keep the lights brighter by lessening the length of wire
- to reduce wear on the switch or to be able to use a smaller switch.

If you used a heavy duty switch, it may work fine electrically. But should still be fixed.

I trying the oil pump kit too. Can’t seem to clear the pan as it hits flywheel.
Did you raise the motor off the mounts to get pan to clear?

I'd double check that you have the wires on the right terminals. It should only click when the relay is triggered by the fog light swtich.

If it's clicking when the switch is off. The it sounds like the trigger terminals and load terminals are swapped.

Thank you all for your comments. I may have a problem with motor mounts as I found one of those rubber blocks under the car.
I’ll keep an eye on it. I really appreciate your advice.

It comes to a rouned point that mimics the rear outer corner of the running board.

6 volt relay

I installed a 6 volt relay to power fog lights years ago, according to an excellent diagram that Big Kev provided me on this site.
I religiously use a blade type battery cutoff ever time I pull back into the garage.

I have noticed a “click” when I turn the battery off or on and it’s coming from that fog light relay.

Is this something to be concerned about, will it drain the battery if not turned off?
Is the relay worn, the fog lights work as they should.

Thanks in advance for any insight. You people are the best!

Thanks. Yes. It pretty much gets wedged in. I am looking to see how to complete the bottom edge. Where it meets the running board trim. Not sure if cut straight across? Tuck it under?
