Just can't stay away

duh
Thanks kev.

The wheelcover above came from behind my grandfathers barn. At first I assumed it was Packard related because I also found a small cache of chrome whatnots too. It was covered in 40+ years of crud, so I brushed it up with a brillo pad.

Pops was very involved with flatheads back in the day. Running some on dragstrips and even some out at bonneville. Most of these were stripped of all chrome and useless bits. I'll be back out to his place in April and will let yall know if I find anything good.

If it wasn't for those meddling kids, and their dog too...

1952 200 deluxe touring- its a goer...but not a stopper. Just ask my neighbour about her flower bed.

Guys any ideas on years of usage for the picture above? Was it only used on the 1940 120?

Also fatmike sent me over this picture of a hub cap found at his fathers place. Doesnt look Packard to me, almost has an Eastern European look to it based on the crest. Can anyone ID this?

Mal, I am looking at the photo: "The old - left, and the new - right", and wondering if you need the grommet and washer that is under the nut. I seems to me that this bracket and rod arrangement is like used on tube-type shock absorbers. I would think the correct arrangement on the rod would be to have a large washer and grommet on each side of the bracket. Have you tried using shock absorber bushings? There is a similar radiator cradle mounting design on my 47 Custom Clipper, and it is configured this way. The purpose of the rod-bracket-grommet arrangement is to provide some insulation from vibration for the radiator. For what it's worth ...

Dude, I figured on Saturday night after the awards ceremony we'd toss down some beers and then go drag racing with it on the main street of Salado. Try out my new cast iron header. Sure, you can sit in it, take it for a drive too.

If it's under 50K miles and appeears to be mostly original and mostly garage kept then it should be a real steal at under $1000. Especialy if it is only a 2 or 3 owner car or less. Such cars are nearly impossible to find of any brand.

Regardless, from the pic and the description u give it's still a good buy if u want something to play with.
