Nice to see it all back together. The chrome looks spectacular!

The original equipment Delco for 1948 was #1110811
Max Vacuum Advance 7 Degrees, Max Governor Advance 9 Degrees

Later distributors will also fit, but the advance curves are different.

Kev, and 1954 would be the first year Packard offered tubless tires. This was an industry first. Maybe the safety beaded rims were offered along with the tubeless tires as an additonal safety factor?

(o{I}o)

Safety Rim Wheels were first mentioned for the 24th Series in the March 1951 Service Counselor as starting to be supplied on some 300's and Patrician 400's and at a later date on 200 Models.
Only the Safety wheels were to be used when the stock on present design was exhausted, but it apparently took quite a while for this to happen as I recently found the older type wheels on a late production 1955 Patrician.

Are you sure that the first letter of the engine number is an "N" and not an "H"

A number in the H2xxxxx series would place it in the 1949 model year which then matches the casting date.

Still thinking I need to make an insulating gasket between the fuel pump and engine block. Doe anyone know how thick it should be, and any suggestions for a good insulating material?

The original used on some models was a 1/16" thick fiber gasket.

HH56 is correct. The washers that look like an O-ring are the seals for the lower pin.

The seals for the upper pin are like a short section of hose as shown in the picture in post 102

Everything had nice, clean grease on it. I was amazed how little trouble I had getting most of the bolts out. Still having trouble with that upper one. The manual says to use the camber/caster wrench to remove it, but it looks like a regular threaded bolt shaft to me.

The upper pin is threaded and you need to use a 1/4" Allen wrench to remove it as per the service manual (That's all that the caster/camber wrench is)

One end of the pin has a hexagonal internal socket.

I believe that RV stands for Radio with Vacuum antenna.

RR for Radio with Roof antenna.

Both of the above match actual equipment with production slips.
