and he is close to me

NP on that bolt... If I had not wire wheeled them

I"m doing a rechrome on the front bumpers
56 The 400
after removing the bumpers and the support
brackets (for cleaning and painting) I found
that 1 of the two main bolts that hold the bracket to the
frame has has a built in concentric under the head
this goes into the long slot on the bracket
then passes through the Frame to be bolted
the front bolt provides a pivot point.
So don't throw those bolts away,
I almost did as I'm replacing screws and bolts
with SS. where I can.

what is the thought on buying the polished SS spokes verses the chromed version
I think here in Ca we have 3 companies that
"can" make the 52 spoke with wheel..
$1400 - 2400.
True spoke said they do not have the center
cap... which I don't understand if they say they
make the wheels here in the US...

HI All
Hope all is well.
Does anyone have a lead for the rear
Antenna rubber grommet
starting to get back to work on my 56
I'll be having the antenna anodized in about
2 weeks...
Best
PS. Rebuild kit for the Rochester 4GC
I looked but did not see any number
stamping..

Can anyone tell me if the rear antenna on the
56 400 were gold plated?
I always thought they were?

I use the word plastic generically
as you can see Polypropylene is OK

that is the site I got my info from
I did do some fast net search and found a mixed
bag of answers.

I will not say your wrong and I'm right
but will I take a chance... I'll go with the plastic
Although the float in my Packard was only 20 years
old, and it did sit for many years, still I have never
seen a float totally destroyed like mine was

I'll get this right sometime.
I bought a plastic float on Ebay for the
sending unit, as Alcohol in the gas destroyed the brass
float
Ebay site
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mopar-Chrysler-Ford-Mercury-Lincoln-Gas-Fuel-Tank-Sending-Unit-Plastic-Float/202396276936?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649

The (Autocity part) has a 57 TBird sending unit
F34SU $45.00 And they say " fits 56 Packard"

I did not know that Alcohol and brass are no compatible
now I do

I cleaned and repaired the two sending units I have
If you do buy a float $8, you need to bend the
hoop on the resistance arm
which is easy, and plastic is compatible with Alcohol
Best
PS:
I can not upload a picture yet, too large.
