Here is Henry's divider window molding that my shop has made and completed for his 1937 138CD Limo. I had to cut up 3 rear door window moldings from a couple of 1937 1092's I parted out to make Henry's missing molding. The cross-section was the same as mine. The first photo was my divider window molding in the jig that was fabricated to TIG weld the pieces for Henry's molding shown in the second photo. The third and final photo shows Henry's molding finished prior to the primer coating. Henry will paint it after he receives it to match the rest of his cars moldings. It was a fun project for myself and my shops worker.

I have posted a picture from my first viewing of the 997 right after the Holidays but I have not mentioned what my impressions were on the car. It is more complete than I thought it would be. Missing very few parts, and most are not Convertible but are normal 1936 120B parts. The mechanic informed me that the engine is a 1937 and the HC Head is even newer than that, 14mm plugs. The engine had been rebuilt many years ago and was never tried to be started after that. So, the man I got it from had honed the cylinder walls and had put new Egge rings in it. He had also checked the bottom end and determined that it was okay. My mechanic (for the last 40 years on my Packard's) told me that some of the valves were not seated in its slumber had some rust on the seats. So, he is currently redoing a minimal valve job before he puts the head on and tries to get it started. The Carb that was on the engine was an EE-16. Although in the trunk was a EE-14 which he will rebuild. I have sent him one of my spare EE-14's for any parts that he might need.
The engine being the wrong year does not get me down any as I will source a correct 1936 120B engine later and take out the 1937 motor currently in the car and drop it into my 1937 120C Sport Coupe. A Win-Win. Below are the parts that are missing on this car. Any help in procuring them would greatly be appreciated. 1. The cross over brace that is on 1935-1936 cars towards the rear of the engine that goes side to side on the frame. 2. The passenger side front inner fender. 3. 1 Bumper guard (3 came with the car rechromed and show car ready. 4. Both Left and Right removable "B" pillars (I know, good luck on finding those Don) 5. 1936 Engine block, Crankshaft, and head (I am in the process of acquiring one but am up to getting 2 of each in case one is unusable) The date does not matter as when it was sold the 1937's were already being available, as long as it is dated 1936 before August. Don's 1936 997 Convertible Sedan

The Packard bug bit me again and I am starting this blog on a 1936 997-1907 Convertible Sedan that I have recently purchased. It is currently in Kansas at a Packard Mechanic's business where the rebuilt motor is touched up where it can run. (old rebuild that needs some valve seats that were exposed and slightly rusted fixed). After that in about 2 months (Feb-March 18) it will be moved to my shop in Northern Alabama. It will then join my 1937 1095 Sport Coupe and my 1937 138CD Limousine. And when I win the lottery I can finish all three.

Possibly it's only an hour from my house but after buying a 1936 997 last week I have no money lol. I think they would be over my budget. Be good entertainment.

New Packard Acquisition

Well here is one I had to buy this weekend. Car has been 10 miles from where I lived 40 years and the whole time it was there under a tarp. It has been in the same family its whole life. Was sold at Wichita Packard. Now I have two 37 120C's and now adding a 1936 120B.
