John S. is correct, Packard only manufactured heavy-duty trucks during the years listed. Here is a photo of one such truck, carrying barrels of beer from Detroit's Gobel brewerey. We used to consume Gobel's--it was Stroh's bargan brand. This was before all of the local brewereys were nudged out by the national brands.

that is NOT the factory AC set-up. That appears to be a York compressor (or at least it looks somewhat like a York) and the Packard OE air conditioning used a Lehigh V-4 compressor, looks nothing like the York-style sidewinder.
I've never seen a V-8 car where the body/VIN plate was painted. Looks like Billy-Bob and Cooter set up shop and have gone "professional"

The mutual friend Joel and I know is pursuing this carpet project--I learned more about his intent for the product by reading Joel's post that that gentlman told me. If he only wishes to make a small run for himself and a few friends I'd have to say that is his perrogative. I am treating this no different than someone who wants to make one piece for their own car and wants to trace mine for a pattern. He's still a Packard guy, and will make that car better.

Do you have a scrap of the grey you could spare?

Big Kev--I had this very same idea about 15 years ago, and were money and time more available I wouldn't mind taking a 36-39 110 coupe and making an all Packard nice rod. 374 v-8, manual trans out of a V-8 Clipper.

All of this is well and good, but I started this thread to discuss the fact that the East Grand Boulevard Packard plant is for sale. See the above link
