According to the roster of 1948-50 convertibles, your car's number 2259-2200 would have been originally delivered in November 1947. Number 2259-2189 was delivered on November 15, while number 2259-2224 was delivered on November 17.

Most of the demolition will occur in the buildings north of E. Grand Blvd. The buildings south of EGB - which are in just as bad a condition as the buildings north of EGB - are owned by the City of Detroit, and will not be touched.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Be sure to look for the big, yellow PACKARD balloon floating over the Packard Club tent at GAD-28.

It was probably filmed by a studio for use as a background in a movie.

At the 1:19 mark, there's a 1952 300 on the left - note the PACKARD on the hood, along with the crest.

You'll find that article, by Leon Dixon, in The Packard Cormorant #173, 4th Quarter 2018.

Ken Chapman wrote about these Airport Limousines in “The Packard Cormorant", issue #135, 2nd Quarter 2009, available from The Packard Club.

Re: Packard shopping, what do you think of this car?

I can confirm that at least two 1955 Clipper Custom sedans were built without the Torsion-Level suspension. The first is 5562-4145, which has since been scrapped (the owner provided me with the information). The second one is 5562-5692, which was a parts car in California in the 1990s. I obtained the information on this car myself when I inspected it (along with many other cars stored out in the Mojave Desert by DS McKnight).

Your car, #5682-4760 is the 15th-from-the-last Patrician for 1956, but not the 15th-from-the-last Packard for 1956.

As of close-of-business on Thursday, June 21, 1956, there were 162 cars to be built before the Conner Avenue plant shut down, which was on Monday, June 25. These cars were built on Friday, June 22 and on Monday, June 25. Here is the list of cars to be built:

19 - Clipper Deluxe sedan 5622
36 - Clipper Super sedan 5642
29 - Clipper Super hardtop 5647
26 - Executive sedan 5672A
10 - Executive hardtop 5677A
11 - Patrician sedan 5682
27 - Four Hundred hardtop
4 - Caribbean convertible 5699

60 Clippers and 60 Packards were built on Friday, while 24 Clippers and 18 Packards were built on Monday. So, your car was, no doubt, built on Thursday, June 21, 1956.
