I'm making progress on several fronts...
The drive shaft has been rebuilt just needs grease and the final coat of paint.
The intake manifold is designed parts are made and going together.
I've made rear end gaskets... assembly is next.

Yesterday I had time to cut the initial hole in the rear deck for the gas tank filler neck. When I get the grommet the hole will be opened up to accommodate it. I picked up the gas cap at the recent Packard meet in South Bend. It has been stripped of its paint and is ready for chrome. The neck extension was made in my machine shop.
I like the way it's looking.

This past weekend I worked on the right side of the tail and the rocker.

Here's a link to the video update... I got a little turned upside down part way through. Oh well

This week I'm getting the rear axle housing and driveshaft cleaned up and primed. Both are tight and don't seam to require rebuilding.

One good morning and I shaped the side panel for the drivers side tail and cut it to fit Tacked it into place. I'm liking the way it's looking 👀

Yesterday I clocked 4 1/2 hours in my shop working on the speedster. I welded the rocker cover in place and made more progress on the driver's door.

I also set the tail side sheet metal in place... you'll have to check out the video for my upcoming plan.

I finally got the driver's side rocker ready to weld in. I used a 1 1/2" square tube welded alongside the body frame. It is tapered at the back in front of the fender. Then I shaped a strip of sheet metal with the body line in it.
Below is a link to the video update.

The pictures show the covered rocker... the third picture is the tapered tube for the passenger side.

Oh bye the way my wife doesn't mind at all that I stack car parts on her counters and table while I play with my new toys 😀

That's right "take them out to your shop...

Well I didn't get the rockers done this past weekend. I did make good progress... more details about building the rockers later.

My carburetor showed up in the mail and I'm super excited! I chose a Webber 32-36 that is modified for a turbo charger or as in my case a blower. We are now in the process of building an aluminum intake manifold for the vintage McCulloch super charger. I'm currently working on all of the manifold parts and am sending the blower out for rebuild. When it gets back I'll build the mounting bracket then finish the manifold. This way the hose from the blower to the carb hat will line up nicely.

This weekend I'm trying to get the rockers built. We had to make an adjustment to the new bead roller tools... now they make the body line just right. I'll post pictures later.

6 hours this morning 👍
