JoeH, things do tend to stand a little more proud when a pretty gal is seated on them...

Hey Big Kev, Perhaps you could link to the pages or cut & paste here?
You have 200 pages?? I blew through the first 25 or so in an hour...

Grinding a cam ain't that big a job, I gotta believe the springs and keepers can be sourced from other applications.
A modern, light & strong push rod would be money well spent.

Lifters could get expensive as well as new rocker shafts and/or arms.

Let's see some Dyno tests!
(Or can that be plunked down on a computer these days?)

This car has landed in a new and caring home, maybe the new owner will chime in.
It was a chore to load it up, we used ratcheting straps to pull it on the trailer & it was a long process!
She pulled pretty heavy behind the Dodge and we got a ton of thumbs up in my 4+ hours on the road, one guy motioned from the left lane that he had one too, how cool is that!
Got lots of thumbs up on the way home too as the trailer now had a very handsome 8 pointer strapped on it :)
One thing I had not realized was that the roof was well & truly dented, perhaps kids had played on it long ago?
The new owner felt that it would need a new roof welded on
so that was a bummer.
All & all, it was a great experience & now I am hungry as ever for the right car.

TTFN!

About post #111

I understand that this car is headed out to the East coast & sold for over 10K. If that's the case, the seller did well.
Anybody we know? Wish I had snagged it.

For some of us that have been there, done that, the answer is easy.

Neil Young summed it up: Rust never sleeps.

There are rust free donor cars all over Craig's list.
Bone one out, sell what ya don't need. Scrap the rest.
Sure, you will have two laying around for a while but you will know it's fixed right.

& ya didn't even ask

BTW, There is a guy in SE WI trying to save a lot less.
There are guys hauling cars from AZ & TX up here all the time, a carcass from a junk yard wouldn't set ya back too bad, less than a new welder!
