Hey Chris, I had Arthur Gould rebuild the pump, it looks cherry and they said it passed the bench test just fine. That's a great question, and now I wonder if you/someone else has ever had any problems with the mechanical pump pulling through the electrical pump???

I just received my rebuilt fuel pump and it looks awesome. In talking to the rebuilder, he was telling me that I should use a electric pump and filter some where before the mechanical, I asked why the pump ????? He said it helps the fuel pump if the car has been sitting for awhile.......but wouldn't i run the risk of over pressirizing the needle seat running 2 pumps?????? And I'm not sure if you all run filters???? If so where??? I was thinking about putting a filter down where the rubber hose hooks to the pump and the supply line?????

Thanks Owen, I have safety wired a ton on jet engines, I'm going to have to look at that close to devise away to wire tie them. You mention the spacer on the pump to block, how thick should it be??? I just want to make that I do have a correct spacer.

Thanks Pat

Oh didn't know that!!! So I have done my fair share of safety wire where is each bolt wired too??? The inserts are still there but I didn't check the washers to see if they are fiber...... it did have a thick gasket, but it was brittle......do I need to reuse it????

Well i finally took the fuel pump off, here are some pics.

It looks to be correct it has a glass bowl with "AC" in the bottom.

Has anyone cleaned these glass bowls up its not cracked or anything but isn't real clear.
Also is there a filter that's supposed to go in the bowl??? if not did they have a filter?

And im not sure the bolts are correct they have "ASP' stamped on the head and they are drilled for saftey wiring, not sure why??? you would not be able to wire tie one bolt to the other. Is this normal
