The national seal number to repair your pinion seal is 471829. As long as you don"t damage the metal outer ring it works fine. a little epoxy will seal it up. Before you take the nut off you must mark nut and yoke with a center punch and tighten to the same spot to maintain the preload on the bearings. Dell PS. If I miss spell some thing its spell checks fault. As I have a spelling defect.

Bill; I have several, I will have to look at what I have. If it is the one I am thinking about you can replace the seal in the outer shell if you can get it out with out damaging it. If so I can get you the national number next week. Dell PS this packard is not a custom eight as iI remember.

33 deferential ID

The deferential on my 33 has two numbers stamped on it. One is the star number which is very close the the engine number and the other is 4 then some space and another 4 with what appears to be a capital I after it. Does anyone have any idea what it relates to. Thank Dell

Thanks O-D; Yes it is a EE-2, one of the service letters I have lists the EE-2 for the 33 1003. I will have to do more investigating. This engine was rebuilt in 1980 and has not run in the past 35 years, I have reground the valves and cleaned the guides now have compression of 135 to145 on all cylinders. I have set up the distributor on my machine to synchronize the points. the engine fires right off, but have a miss and very rich mixture, but it idles quite nice.

I believe the plastic part is a guide, you might be able to use the shaft with the coil on the end. I have done it with the 288 in my woodie. Very important to mark the length with masking tape so you don't thread the coil to far into the block. Also use some locktight on the coil. Dell

At last my 33 is running, but having some problems with the EE-2 carb. Does anyone have any information as I have not found much, just an old Motors manuel. Thanks for any help. Dell
