i have been trying to get my new 1003 running after 35 years of storage. i need to remove the cane shifter to remove the floor boards, is there a trick? thanks for your help. dell

i have been working on my new 1003 which was rebuilt in 1978 and been stored for the last 34 years. the north-east distributor was converted to a mallory advance system and uses the mallory points. my question now that all the old grease has been cleaned out and the weights move again what should the total advance be? right now the mechanical advance is set at 36 degrees. and i question if that might be to much. all my books go back as far as 35, but don't have any info in total advance. thanks for the help. dell

you might check your rotor, i had a similar problem with my 48 custom. a 6 cyl. rotor was in the 8 cyl. box. take a business card tear to fit between the contacts in the cap-fold in half to check the rotor. good luck dell

i went out to the local vintage ford store and bought a stromberg jet wrench, it is to small for the jets in the EE-2. does anyone know if a wrench has been reproduced for the larger main jets in the EE-2. thanks dell

howard; on 22 series the lip goes up to out side edge of fender, they support the hood when open, pins and lock hold closed side of hood in place. dell

andy; you are correct that it is called the 300 convertible. i sold mine several years ago for 35,000. the car had stick and o. d. and was close to a #2 car. if the car on ebay was given to you there is no way you could get it to a driver condition for what the the value of the car would be. the cost of restoration has just gone out of sight. sad to say what the price of parts has gotten to.

R-K; don't forget to check the levers on the transmission, there are balls and springs that prevent your problem. if you take the linkage off the trans levers and push the rear to the back(reverse)the front lever should not move, if it moves you need to take the cover off and check the detentes.
