Dell
take the cotter key out of the ends and unscrew the plugs, it all comes apart. just lay out parts as you take apart and take a picture or draw a map. it not to hard and i think the parts book has a blow up. it should not be hard to find a replacement end. dell ps looks like howard posted the picture for you

richk; i have a 42 110 conv. and have had every bolt in the car apart. there are not that many large bolt that have the washers and rubber, i wonder if someone replaced a body to frame bolt with a large bolt. dell

Dell
i think howard is correct, but i believe it should be a carriage bolt. also rubber shims between radiator cradle and frame. dell

correct head for 28-526

i have been having a problem with a compression leak in to the radiator which blows water out. i have changed the gasket and had some areas spray welded as some of the water passage holes are very rusty. i found another head, but the combustion chamber is different then the head on the car-it covers or is the size of the gasket (will try to post picture) i don't know which head is correct. if i can get the picture the right size i hope i can get a little help. thanks dell ps head on the right is like the one on the car there are no casting numbers that are readable- the head on the right has a 180 cc chamber, the left is 169. the 28 gasket matches all the bolt and water holes in both heads. the heads are the same thickness- does anyone have any idea what year the left head is? i thought for sure that some one would have sean one before. thanks

Dell
howard; i bought 100ft of L shaped rubber from karr as that was the shortest they would sell, i used it on my 48 custom and 48 woodie and sold some to one of our regional members. it is 3/4 X 3/4 which is smaller then the original which was 7/8 on each leg. i looked all over and it was the closest i could find. dell
