Not sure if it's still available but Cook & Dunn's "Flame Red" enamel was a near-perfect match for the original.

Many vacuum advance applications use the same basic unit and are differentiated for a particular use by the spring and shim package.

The gas/oil gauge switch in my 1934 Eight is different from HH's description. Mine which I'm certain is original to the car is a dead-man or momentary contact type switch. It normally reads from the gas tank sender and to read the oil level from the crankcase sender you press the switch button up against spring pressure and hold it for as long as you want the oil level displayed. Relax your finger pressure and it reverts to reading the fuel level.
There is a SPDT toggle switch under the dash in near proximity, it switches between the instrument lights and the map light.

You can't do better than 3M's Weatherstrip Adhesive to retain the new gasket.

Marty, I assume you are referring to the two screw heads on the fuel bowl just below the inlet. It's been more than 45 years since I did that carburetor work and I just don't recall if those screws retain the shield or it it just nests over them but tend to think the shield just nests over them. In either case I'll have the car out for a show Sunday and will try to get you a definitive answer then.

IIRC the tank itself is vented via a small tube to the filler neck, and the entire assembly is then vented via a vented cap.
