I agree on using the same wood piece and gluing it together. I would suggest using exterior glue for the wood with the wooden dowels. Securely clamp the wood after you put the pieces together.

I will re-look at the top of the bow that is affixed to the windshield. The two shops that said they could make a new wooden piece for the windshield both said they were going to bend a series for birch pieces to make the curve. Both were over $1000 for the piece.

Thanks

Hey RRHorton,

Can you tell me who bent your wood for the frame? I need to get a curved wooden windshield frame built for my 1941 convertible.

Thanks,
Gar

Where did you get the regulator? I believe I need one as my temp and gas gauge don't always work

Could be several things. When does it occur?

Do pot holes or road high spots cause any issues or just ruts?

Do you have play(slop) with the steering wheel when the car is running or when it is off?

How hard is it to change the 533 front Trunion springs? The manual indicates that it is a relatively simple. I have never had much luck easily changing my springs.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your input.

I am trying to help out another guy who is rebuilding the framing on his 28, and thought I might get lucky.

Any idea where I can find a set of diagrams for the wooden framing for a 1928 533 and 526?

I have most of the puzzle pieces but there a few missing.

Thank you,
Gar

Local glass(window) companies can cut the glass for you. I use Peter's glass in Romeo,MI as they can cut circular and curved glass by hand. Very reasonably priced.
