Re: Special tool J-5981?????? For window handles?

The Packard clips including the "improved" variety are notorious for not holding the handle in place.

Tell me about it. A right or left turn always ends with the corresponding window handle falling off the rear windows. Of course they won't slide off, but make on turn... I just leave them off until I reach my destination.

Try Jack Vines, he was selling OEM lifters a year or so ago. You'll find him here on PI.

MI does allow use of a correct year license plate, however is has to be correct in color. The MI 1956 plate has a white background with green letters/numbers. Don't even think of changing that. Also, in 1956 MI only had a rear plate, no front plate. In addition to being historically correct, there is one other reason to use a year correct plate. Currently, MI has a one time, permanent registration for correct year plates. (If Rep. Cushingberry gets his way that will change).

Padded dashes were an option. If I get the chance, I;ll rummage through my stuff and find the cost.

I checked for these a couple of years ago, and David Moe had them at that time. Don't know if he still does.

Watched "Holiday Inn" during the holidays and in the very opening on the movie Fred Astaire steps out of a 1941 110 cab in front of the night club his character is appearing in. Such a shame to see in driving in all that 'fake' snow.

When I got my 56 Clipper it didn't have the resonators and while it was quiet, I decided to install them when I replaced the exhaust. The difference is amazing! Every event that I went to this past summer I received nothing but compliments on how quiet the car is. At the Motor Muster at Greenfield Village back in June, I was cruising the grounds during the evening and a woman shout out to me that she didn't know that Packard made an electric car! Even more recently, at the Fall Open House at PPG as I was about to leave, a man came up to me and was asking about the car. He asked me to start the car so that he could hear it. I then told him that it was running and had been the whole time.

That's what I thought, but thought I'd double check here first.
