Main Drive gear for '49-'50 R-11 O/D Transmission

Hi I'm currently installing a '49-'50 R-11 O/D Transmission in my '39 Super-8 which had no overdrive. My mechanic and I opened up this newer transmission and besides needing all new bearings found that the previous owner liked to start in 2nd gear instead of first which wore down the teeth on the second gear. Since you can't just slide out the gears for new ones it seems I have to get the whole "Main Drive Gear" on the shaft so I wondered if anyone knows if someone has a spare Main Drive Gear with a decent 2nd gear. Thank you.

I thought I'd try this question here also - Anybody know a source for the 1939 Super-8 connecting rod bearings? I hear they are pretty scarce.

Looks like Laurel is driving and Hardy is riding shotgun.

Actually I opened it up and managed to shift the contacts forward about 1/16 of an inch so it now works unless I press it in all the way which passes the contacts and doesn't work. So I don't push it all the way in, I can live with that.

Finding a '39 Starter Button

My starter button gave out on my '39 Super-8. so I ordered a NOS button (which is on the left in the photo) and yesterday took out the bad one (the one on the right). They look the same head on, but mounting holes are different and the length difference is obvious. Today I took it to an old electric shop and they said you can't fix that, it's meant as a throwaway piece, and suggested checking clubs and the internet in general for a replacement. Does anyone know if other car companies, (Hudson, Buick, etc) used the same switch? It's about 2 inches long.
Thanks, Steve P.

I need more like a nut holder, not a screw holder since the screws are imbedded into the dash.
