I may bid on a few of these. But as a guy who has had older cars for the past 40 years i have been noticing that young people dont want them. they want 60s and 70s. cars. And alot of the cars i have are starting to go backwards in value.I see cars all the time on websites that people inherit a nice old car they leave it sit outside till its almost junk and then try to sell it. In another 50 years i wonder how many will survive.

What is the correct way to tell if a 1955 Caribbean has the original engine. Also did they all have summer winter seats or was that an option?

Do you know the provenance on it?

[/qn uote] When I picked up the car a guy there told me it came from a Barn Conncticut But i have no proof of that. It has a Vermont 1970 inspection sticker on the right windshield. a New York 1986 inspection sticker on the left windsheild. Also found some papers and an old registration that said it was from Eagle Bay New York. Also found some envolopes from Boston trust in the car so who knows. Now its near Boyertown Pa

Also I dissassembled moved them as much as I could took them to a different machine shop and got them machine together and reinstalled on the engine. remove and cleaned oil filter and pan. Replaced all the heater and radiator hoses.I have plugs and wires on the way. The engine is nice and quiet now. Also runnig off a temparary gas can because the coating is coming off the fuel tank. I have a 1941 super 8 with the real small threads on the plugs I think they are 10 millimeter. I looked at an old post and it said autolite 308 but they are to big. Also checked the parts cross reference they are not listed. My motor manual says ac 104 but that says all motors back to 1935 that dose not seem correct to me. The plug that are in the engine now are champion uy6 but I dont know if they are correct. Thanks for any help

Re: Has anyone repaired a gasket surface on an exhaust manifold

The reason I took it to the machine shop was to have the intake/exhaust mounting surface plained. The machine shop guy said its so far gone till he trues up the surface there will be nothing left of the manifold. I may try to do something with the jb weld I figure I have nothing to lose but time.If anyone else has any other ideas let me know.

Has anyone repaired a gasket surface on an exhaust manifold

My exhausgt manifold was leaking. When I dissassemble the manifold from the block I noticed that 1 stud was broke. I took the exhaust intake manifold to the machine shop and the guy said that the gasket mounting surface is very bad and I need another manifold. I called a guy that I usually get parts from he says he dosenot have any manifolds. So I was wondering has anyone ever used something to repair the gasket mounting surface like allmetal.

Strange private messages from Packardinfo

In the past month I have got 2 odd private masseages from packard info. Maybe they are scams. 1 wanted to know if I knew anything about Amelia Earhart. The second 1 said that he was in need of help with a Packard and needed 3 or 4 people to help him with advice. Also wanted me to go to another web site. He said that no 1 on packardinfo responds like the site is dormant. I have never had that problem . People have always responded to me on packardinfo. And I will try to help anyone but this seems suspicious to me and I did not respond. I wanted to let others know.
