It's a known fact that Packard used the capital letter "I" instead of "1" for ID purposes.

To my knowledge, you won't find a direct bolt on kit, you'll have to make one. I would imagine that the '40 would be similar enough to my '37 and '48 cars that I could walk you through making one yourself.

The "disclaimer" was removed because Kevin asked me too, if he hadn't it would still be there, as I think people should be aware that the part they're buying is made in a foreign country. And since it was in a signature, that changes every single post I make when I change it.

As for THE TRUTH and the like, why haven't you answered my questions to you, I've answered your questions?

I wouldn't say "documented" per say, but more like "common knowledge" to those who've worked on cars like these for years.

You can learn a lot from older people if they're worth learning from.

If it's the piece that's not part of the manifold, yes. If it is, then don't try to remove it, just make it big enough for a new tube to fit in it.

Don't worry about it then, as long as you can put the tube from the carb in it and it stays there then it's not really an issue.

That's a heat tube that supplies hot air to the choke. You need it. Define what you mean by "broke it", did you just break the top off where it sticks out a little, or is the whole thing destroyed?

And there's actually two pieces of this tube, per say. There's a piece that's supposed to be permanently in the manifold, and the other piece that actually goes from that tube to the carb. If it's the latter, you can make a new one using a piece of brake line and a compression fitting. If it's the former, that's a little more difficult but can be done as well.

No pissing contest, just trying to talk some common sense into those who lack it.

JW, I agree, I'm tired of his crap as well.

Fred, I already answered your question, but judging from your spelling ability your reading comprehension lacks as well. Let me repeat it for you:

Quote:
And Fred, I don't give two bits where your valve is made, if it was made on Mars with the latest Martian technology I still wouldn't recommend using a single line master cylinder on any car that's driven on public roads.

For the record, I never stated that I could tell where it was made, Chris stated this:

Quote:
The supplier is in USA and I reckon all the suppliers have the same kit and would they be manufactured in Mexico ?

Chris

To which I replied sarcastically:

Quote:
Mexico or China, who is the supplier?

I never ONCE stated for a FACT that I could tell from LOOKING AT A PICTURE where a part came from. You are putting words in my mouth to suit your agenda.

And also, if a single line master cylinder is as safe as you say, and you're such a proponent of them, why do you sell dual master conversion kits?

And it's virtually impossible to lose all your brakes with a dual line master cylinder as well.
