Loosen the center hood trim, slide it back a little bit. Then, slide your hood ornament back. May take a good bump with the palm of your hand. It's only held in by friction.

Have you re-torqued your cylinder head several times since putting the engine back together?

My brother has one that has been rebuilt and pickled. It was done by THE 356 expert, and was the last one he did. It is in Minneapolis, but could be delivered to Hershey in the fall. $12,000

On second thought, I think she said it was because of their reduced unsprung weight, and that they were faster to to change (knock-off).

I once asked Denise McCluggage why most racers drove sports cars with wire wheels vs solid steel wheels. Her answer was just the opposite. She said that the wire wheels were stronger.

It may have come off of a Packard, but it is not a Packard accessory. Much different than the ones Packard offered.

I think the car in the Aldrich shop is serial numbered as a 1956... #1. Can't quite remember. I plan on going over there this week sometime. I'll check. If I can.

The car is in Pat Aldrich's shop, owned by a fellow from Dayton.
