It's hard to determine a value based on just a few photos, and knowing nothing of its mechanical condition, nor of what the interior looks like. That said, it could be worth $100,000 if it's in excellent mechanical condition and if the upholstery is nice.

If the Turnquist book is accurate, sounds like you need to find your body number, but I can't tell you where to find that. Start by checking underneath your passenger seat.

From what I understand, there is very little difference between the Custom and the Standard 443. Even the body numbers are the same. Customs had sidemount spare tires and a wider range of color options. The Standard Catalog says the Custom was pricier, but then lists the base price on them both as being the same. So, basically, it appears that you bought a Standard, and if you ordered special color and sidemounts, you turned it into a Custom Eight.

I guess I'm in line to learn something new. I thought all 443s were Custom Eights.

I'm sad to hear that the bobbed fenders will be changed to running boards. That's what makes this car. Tell your wife I strongly suggest it is left as Mark did it. He knew good style.

Do you mean the brackets that allow the trunk to fold down out of the way of the built-in trunk? I just sold a couple of pairs of those to a guy who buys and sells parts. He may still have them.

There should be a couple of perpendicular wood strips on the bottom. Then, four bolts from inside the trunk line up with the nuts found in the luggage rack itself. I'm not sure this trunk will fit your car, though, as it is a Senior trunk. Unless, of course, you've got a Senior trunk rack on your car.
