Hi

My opinion, for what it's worth: For 1930's cars equipped with fender skirts, a circular emblem centered on the rear wheel and speed-streak spears are always de rigueur to complete the Streamline Moderne look. Parts to complete the look don't have to be factory original since the car is already modified.

If the Jaguar engine proves troublesome, a good alternative might be the AMC 232/258 derived 4.0L ohv six cylinder found in Jeep Cherokee Sports. Some even can be found with manual shift overdrive transmissions.

Hi

The Flackmaster gives the best advice, do only what is absolutely necessary to keep it presentable and reliable. Wonderfully original cars are become scarcer every day, keep yours original as long as possible.

The 1941 Sport Brougham by LeBaron is again offered for sale:
https://lexington.craigslist.org/cto/d/midway-1941-packard-180-brougham/7554442635.html

Certainly, an ambitious and expensive restoration project but one of the most worthwhile. Preserve the most elegantly proportioned late pre-war era closed Packards and final LeBaron coachbuilt bodies a laudable objective in itself.

Chiefdan: Welcome! Congratulations on buying a nicely preserved 1951 200 Deluxe. You've come to the right place for correct advice and encouragement.

Please start a project blog in that section to record your progress as you reactivate your Packard. It is also a good place to post your questions. Though, do a search first as so many of the common problems that arise have been thoroughly dealt with and documented for instant answers.

Joining a national Packard club will open up a wealth of knowledge, parts sources and contacts with other Packard owners. The Packard Club (PAC) is most active in the eastern part of the country. Once a member of the national club, we have the East Grand Packards Region which covers most of New York State which I invite you to join as well. Please check East Grand Packards Region which is an open Facebook site for our group.

Thanks gentlemen. Reassuring to know it's not just my computer not getting through.

Probably is time to close the old one full of dead CL links, get a 'Part Deux' if Big Kev approves it.

Since CL started charging $5 to post a vehicle listing, the number of collector cars in general has dropped off. Facebook Marketplace is still free, that's where a lot migrated. But, in general, people seem to be keeping their Packards, or so it seems.

I repost some with photos on the AACA Forum, For Sale - Not Mine section, so check their periodically.

Steve

Added 9-5-2022: I just got it to take a single listing but wouldn't do more than one even when I tried editing and adding a second.

Hi

There are very few Packards advertised on Craigslist these days. But did find a few, just tried to post them but it wouldn't work. Last posting was a month ago.
