Re: Hand Brake cable routing

Yes, and thanks. I still have the problem of too long a cable even though that was the one that came off of the car originally. I'm still trying to get it routed underneath correctly. Does anyone have a source for the heavy duty brackets / clamps that attach the cable housing to the underneath of the chassis?
The only ones I've been able to locate are the flimsy ones that hold wiring.
Thanks again.

Thanks, that does put another piece of the puzzle together. My problem now is that when I route the cable that came off of the car originally, I have too much cable when putting it back on. I am not routing from the front of the toe board to the attachment correctly still. But, I'll get back to it tomorrow and see what I can get to fit.
Thanks for all of your help.

Hi. I finally got around to to checking the impedance and found that the headlights show 1.3 ohms and the tail lights show 0.8 ohms. I think 1.3 ohms may be a bit high. What do you think? Thanks.

This is great. Now, do you have anything on how it is routed into the passenger compartment? Does it come up between the lower firewall and body, or through one of the holes in the upper firewall? I am suspecting the former myself.
Thanks again.

I thank you all for the information you have provided. I shall print off these pictures and see about getting mine installed properly.
Again, I do thank you.

My headlights function as desired, however, if they are left on without the engine running, they start to dim after a few minutes as if the battery has been drained even though the battery has been fully charged. I would think on a full battery that they might last more than five minutes. Does anyone know if this is normal on a 6-volt system?
Thanks in advance for any information.

Hand Brake cable routing

On my 1937 120C Touring Sedan, I was wondering if anyone had any pictures or drawings showing the routing of the hand brake cable. The pictures I have were taken in lower light and I really cannot tell how it is supposed to go.
Thanks to all for any information you might be able to provide.

'37 120C Horn Button
Home away from home
Home away from home

R Howe
I am attempting to install my new horn button into a new cup. I have had to install and remove it a few times to adjust the tabs on the cup so the button will not ground out and also have enough play. I did this without the cup being installed in order to correct the play within the cup. I determined that the actual installation is a two person job since the horn wire will crimp within the cup unless someone can gently pull it from the other end to keep it straight. The last time I had someone help me to this, he tried to insert the button into the cup before I could pull on the other end, so now I think it is jammed. We have attempted to remove the button, but it is stuck where it is, meaning the upward tabs on the button are jammed under the tabs on the cup, but to no avail. I am afraid that if we try to muscle the button out of the cup it will become damaged. I have tried machine oil to see if I could get it to slip that way, but again could not get it to budge.
Has anyone out there had this problem and were you able to solve it? If so, what did you use to gain enough grip on the button to finally get it to rotate in the cup enough to either get it installed or remove it?
Thanks to all.

Yes and thanks. I thought there was a bit more to it than what I suspected. I really appreciate the information and am still wondering about the source of it. In my research, which I pursue prior to posting my questions for help, I am not encountering anything such as this.
Again, I do thank you for the information.
