I agree with West and am adding my support as such because if you really want to sell it, be realistic, especially as the car has not been maintained in 40 years, meaning expensive overhauls of brake, cooling, fuel, electrical systems. One important accessory that will impact the marketability of the car is the overdrive. 15K is top end, serviced, in the right market. 8-10K as is.

I know these cars/owner well. This car is basically a 180 Formal Sedan with a removable post, modified front seat/wheelchair and ramps, and will need a total restoration.

If someone could please refer to me a machine shop, I have located a useable new production part, however the end coming out of the short ball joint is the wrong thread - IIRC needs to be 3/8 course for the transmission, and the current part is 7/16 fine. There appears to be enough stock to cut down to 3/8, but I have been unsuccessful in finding someone to do it, as it is a right angle to the stem. Help me find the shop and Mal gets the first one....the other alternative is to go to the right angle clipper/donut version, but use of non-factory spec parts may void our warranties...

RE: 338245 Dashpot - Need replacement/rebuild information. Can someone please advise current interchange for this dashpot - Rumor has it there is a 60's Pontiac that does the trick functionally, or is there experience to share in rebuilding the diaphragm in the original, and/or a source for a replacement cap? Mine is cracked and I would like to replace the diaphragm or whole unit as you may suggest. Thanks! PS - the current unit (original?) is has a trico cast cover - surely this was not only for Packard? 39-41 Caddy??

I retract my comment and apologize for stirring up the issue. I have witnessed too many "experts" doing the walk around judging at car displays and personally find it distasteful and rude, considering the effort we go to restoring these cars and making the effort to share them with others. Bill, your car is lovely and I wish you all the best in your efforts to finish it. If I can be of any assistance, please feel free to email me directly at flackmaster@sbcglobal.net
