Need 526 carb linkage...at least a picture????
Home away from home
Home away from home

Bob Supina
When we acquired our 526 Convertible Coupe early this year, it had a Zenith carb with some fabricated linkage. The car did run, and I did get it up to 42 mph.
Subsequently, we acquired a proper carb, but now need to buy or fabricate the necessary linkage.
Any close up pictures....helpful hints about fabricating...offer of spare parts...would be greatly appreciated.

I can't translate this to modern paint formulas, but for 1937 Packard Maroon Dupont code was:

G Packard Maroon 246-31471-M
Dark Maroon 246-0372 23 1/4 oz
Light Maroon 246-0373 8 3/4 oz

If you want to see Mrs. Packard's '41 180 LeBaron limo, it is on permanent display at the National Packard Museum in Warren Ohio.

What model used radiator McCord B5-88?
Home away from home
Home away from home

Bob Supina
I have this NOS radiator that has a tag labeling it as a
McCord B5-88. The height would seem to indicate it was a model up through '47.
Unfortunately I cannot provide dimensions at this time.Just hoping someone can identify it from the tag.
Am posting it in this forum since it could be pre or post war.

Thanks for looking.

I totally agree with Tim. Many years ago I saw a beautiful original 1937 Super Eight Convertible Sedan that would have garnered 90 points at a show.
All that originality was destroyed to get a $25 trophy.
Fortunately, in more recent years, clubs have created classes and preservation awards for original cars.

Red, Black, Gold radiator cores on motometers.....

We have three Packard motometers. Each has a different color of the radiator core behind the biplane. Can anyone clarify the dates that each was used?

While it is not an official Packard accessory, our radial engine and rotating prop are a fun addition.

I can't count the number of reasons that have been published on the reason why Packard went down, but I contend there is only ONE real reason.....

GOVERNMENT BAILOUTS HAD NOT BEEN INVENTED!

When I got into this 'crazy' hobby/obsession in 1963, I lived a half mile from the restoration shop, Wilkinson & Sharp, north of Philly. They were restoring a 1934 Super Eight convertible coupe. One day I overheard the owner of the Packard comment to a friend...."I've got $5,000 in it...I'll never get it back out!!!"
Some people restore cars to make money...
Some people restore cars because they want to...for 50 different reasons.

It takes all kinds to make a world!
