Thanks for the info next time I'm up in seattle I'll take a closer look at the tube on the motor. The guy that has the motor for sale also has a 52? 200 for sale with a parts car. I'm trying to figure out if I have room at the house!!

I just brought the parts car home and would like some info. The car is not worth saving but has a lot of good parts. Door panels back glass, ect. I have a question about the motor though. The motor does not have the standard Packard accessories with it. Valve covers have decals that say Hornet v/8. I read in this months Hemmings collector car that Packard sold engines to Nash and Hudson as early as 1955? Was wondering if these engines are the same as a 320? the article says that these motors are detuned 320's. Also the motor still turns over after being pulled out of a junkyard in '68 been in dry storage since then. Also have a chance to aquire a bunch of 55 Clipper parts if anyone is interested.

It's time to start the blog for the Panama. Soo I was trying to tune it up and put new plugs, cap, rotor, ect. picked up parts from napa got new wires they are not copper core like og hooked them up and no start. went through firing order, that checks out.Is it the wires? put old wires back on still no fire. Changed cap and installed new rotor to start have not changed points yet. Also set #1 to tdc looked like it was off so I moved rotor to what I thought was tdc. nope look at the manual first dummy!!!manual has #1 set at 37 degrees so I need to put it back where it's supposed to be. Should I use copper core wires? Bad thing is car ran before!!

Its been awhile since I've been on the forum. I'm going to go look at a 38 four door this weekend was wondering what to look out for. The car has been sitting under cover for a long time owner says it's a six with a three speed? some rust on the doors otherwise complete. the price is real cheap. I found this on seattle craigs list there are a couple of pics if any one wants to take a look and give me some feedback. Yes Owen I'll register it if I get it.

Hey Mark, This is mike from Tacoma. I have recently purchased a 50 that needs some engine work if not a full rebuild. Who did you find in the area to do the machine work for you? I think I need to give them a call!

Brought the 49 home today having trouble with the serial number,first two numbers are 23 third is a 6 or a 9 I can't tell. rest is -5-2025I any help would appreciated thanks.

It has the auto trans in it motor is about halfway put back together, bringing it home tomorrow. I'll have a better idea what kind of shape it is in. And yes OZ I'll put it in the registry! I'll also try to post some pics if the weather cooperates.

Went and looked at a 49 today, rusty floors, body is decent all of the trim is intact motor supposedly had a bad head gasket at 60k miles motor needs to be put back together head has been installed. guy wants 350 bucks. was wondering if I should pull the trigger on it. Any input from the experts would be helpful hate to see it go to the crusher. Mike
