Lou Abelove was a long time customer of ours from upstate NY and seems to have purchased and stored the luxury car contents of a junkyard ,doing what many collectors ask to be done, SAVE THEM  (which has been echoed by many on this forum over the years) .If anything this a great opportunity for people in the Packard community to have the chance to save and restore another Packard or the opportunity to get a younger classic car enthusiast interested in Packards. There are about 7 Caribbeans all of which can be restored.  Many of the rest can continue to be good parts cars or restoration projects with minimal original costs.

We had a Packard convertible in very similar condition in our yard at 76 Monroe years ago missing many parts but we were able to provide along the way.  A customer from Brazil saw it and bought it and restored it to the condition attached. If anything we should be looking at these car's as an opportunity for the next generation of collector car hobbyist and not some "Crackpots collection". As with many of us in this hobby we collect and save these cars with good intentions but time has a way of getting away from us.

Thanks

You may want to try Dorman as they have a variety of pins and bushings. Available at most auto chain store and through Dormans websites

Glad to hear that you got the one in and your leak resolved. If you still have the front clip off I would definitely consider doing the others. Based on the fact of ease of access. I know I have gambled in the past and it has come back to bite me. When in doubt change in out when it come to block plugs.

We all list only the most popular parts. Our 55-56 list is about 12 pages and the factory parts book is 300-400 pages.

We will research your needs, just send us a letter , call or e-mail and give us time to research your request.

We have been supplying the 1 3/4 freeze out plugs in our engine kits as well as individually for nearly 40 years with no ill affects. On occasion we may have a customer that has issues but this in many cases is in part to heavy corrosion or pitting at the blocks surface area. In those cases when we are notified we work with the customer and supply them with a larger freeze out plug if need be to remedy the situation.

I am sorry that you are having an issue with getting in contact with our Packard Department. As others have mentioned unfortunately our Packard Department has been hit particularly hard this past week with Covid. Since the confirmation we have been pro-active to clean and disinfect the department. We have added salesman from our other sales department to handle incoming calls and any customer service issues that need assistance. We have also added additional warehouse employees to aid with pulling, packing and shipping of parts.

But regardless there had been a slight delay in orders being taken and orders going out this past week but now with the step that we have put in place we should be as close to normal with leads times this coming week.

You can also reach out to me through PM here and I will work with you to get an answer to what ever questions that you have.

Thanks
