Re: WTB - .010" V8 bearings and pistons

Jack,
If you find any, and there are extra's, please let me know. I have been looking for a set for my 352 and have come up empty. I even found one reference that a newer big block Ford set would fit, but after I received them, they were totally different. It seems that the only other option is to have the crank turned another .010 and get the 20 over ones that are easily available.

Very nice. Did you bend that channel from flat metal or buy it as channel? I have to make something similar for the front fender inner support and I like the way you formed the curved portion.

Thanks. I figured as long as it was on a "good" portion of the crank it would be okay.

352 front crankshaft seal replacement

When replacing the front crankshaft rope seal in the timing cover with the new "perfect circle" seal, do I fully seat the seal in the retainer or leave it flush with the retainer face?
TIA,
John

That is always something to consider. I was even thinking of trying to get a Corvette assembly from a junk yard to try for fitment. Unfortunately, the dashboard is out of my car so I can't take any measurements to see if the specs match up, so I was hoping one, or more, members might have considered this solution already. I'm also concerned that the MC size might not be enough for the 4 wheel drum brakes on a vehicle as heavy as a 55 Constellation.

Clipper Power Brake Upgrade

I have been perusing the Project Blogs and Forums, and couldn't find an answer or opinion on this.
Has anyone considered, or tried, using a Power Brake upgrade using the MC/Booster Combo with Swing Pedal? AS an example, something dexigned like this:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/7-DUAL-Power-Brake-Booster-Master-Cylinder-Firewall-Swing-Pedal-Kit-Street-Rod/331888088922?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649
or
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-Under-Dash-Pedal-With-7-Dual-Booster-Master-Cylinder-GM/312737051502?_trkparms=aid%3D555021%26algo%3DPL.SIMRVI%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20190711100440%26meid%3Dff0643f7d91342e5982035b00486ec5a%26pid%3D100752%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D4%26mehot%3Dco%26sd%3D331888088922%26itm%3D312737051502%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2047675&_trksid=p2047675.c100752.m1982
If this would work, I understand having to lose the fresh air duct on the drivers side, and the need to reinforce the firewall in that area, but it seems like this would be a feasible way to upgrade to a dual MC without having to build or modify the brake pedal.
TIA,
John
