Here's a data point. Perhaps this is the cat Ted purchased?
http://www.packardsinternational.com/PI-51.php I also have a 51 Patrician 400. They are great drivers and many (like mine) were delivered without power steering, power brakes, and no hydraulic windows. They are just great simple cars with extremely well crafted interiors, the last year for the "wings up" cormorant hood ornament and the last year for the cloisonne wheel covers. There were several recently listed for sale in the PAC monthly publication also. Good luck, you'll enjoy the ride.

There have been a number of pictures posted on this website taken at the museum. The following thread will take you to some of them.

You can also find info on the PAC website:
http://www.packardclub.org/ If you go to the reference section and select the trim subsection you'll find that the standard for the 5478 were trim codes 82,83,86, and 87. There are a number of sources for leather stock. Bill Hirsch and SMS Fabrics are two of many who could provide the leather Another idea might be to contact the members of the PAC who currently own 5478's and find another car with your interior and plead for a sample of the green and white from their car. Good luck.

Here are a few photos. If you can't use them, send a private message to me on this website with your email address and I'll try that route. Good luck.

What color is the exterior? I might have some photos of a similar car I can share that would give you some clues.

I agree with Owen. Check out the Packards Internaitonal website (cars for sale section) and Hemmings Motor News. Both have websites with cars for sale. Last time I checked there were several 51 and 52 Patrician 400's for sale. My only point is that I think I'd do a little shopping. Good luck.

They say the difference between an optimist and a pessimist is that a pessimist is an optimist with experience. With that said, assuming your trip from Michigan to Ballston Spa (we used to live in Saratoga Springs so I'm envious this time of year) is about 600 miles...
If you fly over your airfare will be about $400 plus about $100-$200 in hotel/food/gas or other expenses assuming there is no mechanical surprise along the way back, total about $500-600. If you drive over, you have one car round trip and the Packard one way back, fuel/hotel/food would total about $500-$600. My point is that I'd get some bids from transport companies. An enclosed trailer might be around $1-$1.25 per mile or about $600-$700. For the $100 premium I'd call it cheap insurance and have someone ship it to me rather than run the risk a fuel pump/water pump/tire/wheel bearing/dragging brake shoe/ et al surprise along the way. While the Packard will impress any tow truck driver, I doubt that he'll be impressed enough to forget the tow charge and most repair shops will think Packard was the guy who's first name was Hewlett. Hope you enjoy the Packard as much as we enjoyed SPAC and the track. Good luck.
