I have owned several 1955/56 Packards and I am in the Franklin area for a couple of days. Give me a call or send a text and I’ll drop by. Two-eight-one 793 three 377.

I plan to remove a complete air conditioning system from a 1956 Patrician. Any photos, drawings or service manual references to help in this process are appreciated, In particular the removal of the compressor from the engine block is needed. Thanks

Swimming Pool Disaster

I recently helped a friend remove his award winning (a little over 100 trophies since the 1980) 1956 T-bird from sitting in his enclosed garage for about 2 years. When we opened the hood we were greeted by a huge combination of rusted fittings and pitted chrome. Turns out he also stored chlorine used in his swimming pool near the car. Our conclusion was that the frequently partially open bags of pool chlorine attacked the car. Learn something new everyday. Be careful what’s stored near your car. In his case the “fix-it” bill was about $5,000. FYI.

Based on the Packard Engine Serial Number Listing on this website, the engine 302510 is inside the range of 1930 serial numbers (277013-305283) for the "Standard Eight", 319 cu in; 90hp engine. Looks like you have a good start.

If it was converted for use as a parade vehicle by a city fire department, perhaps the registration is based on a government tag? Anyone know if that can be checked?

Note the previous post is for an interior door handle spring. Sorry about that.

Perhaps this older post will help
