Re: 1956 Torsion Level troubleshooting issue

Since this is a 1956, there is a reverse/park relay that sits on the driver's side of the transmission. Small silver pumpkin shaped can with two wires. I don't see that relay in the one-line. Sorry, I may have overlooked it. On more than one occasion I've replaced that reverse/park relay in addition to the pesky brake light switch relay that sits on top of the master cylinder. But with brake lights working, that one is not your problem. Good luck.

It is really unusual to not receive a response to a question on this site. So I'm responding to get the question back at the top of the Recent Forum Topics list. Owen, Howard, Joel, can anyone provide an idea on this one?

Packard Evanston

Hope the Packard that was assigned this dataplate is still in service and that its owner finds the opportunity to reunite the car and data plate

Contacted Pat this afternoon and yes, Pat Aldrich is still helping Packard owners. Pat reports that they have "about a year-long waitlist for big jobs".

A welcoming enthusiastic V-8 Packardman. He was always willing to help others. He was never found short promoting packardinfo.com and the Packard marque. He'll be missed.

There are several photos of the Maya's beautiful '56 Carribbean Convertible and many more Caribbean Convertibles and Hardtops on this website in the "Packard Photo Archive". Including all models, there are 261 photos of 1955 and 296 photos of 1956 cars in the Archive. If you have not made the time to browse, enjoy the photos sometime.

Another point of view...we don't own them, we're just custodians until we pass them to the next custodian. So the previous owner will appreciate your preservation and protection of their special car just like you will when the next custodian takes care of your car.

It is possible to use a credit card or a debit card to donate to the museum. You could also purchase something from the museum store that would give them some cash. FYI

Leedy,
The photo of you in the Hughes/Peters Caribbean displays the bottom of the rear fender skirt below the centerline of the hubcap. Were their weights in the trunk, soft torsion bars, or just the correct rear height?

Another Custom listed for sale on the Packard Automobile Classis website
www.packardclub.org. Look in the Packard Classified section."1949 Early Series Custom Low mileage original rebuilt 356...." $15,500. The ad dated 4/25/2020 indicates the car is in New Mexico.

Good luck
