I read that in some places (Montana, I believe), records were set down to -49 with a windchill of -72! I can’t imagine those temperatures in the continental US. -2 is fairly common in the High Dessert of Oregon where my shop is but -49 is unimaginable.

I've not had any luck in locating the rubber front floor mat as it does not appear to have been reproduced. The prewar type is available but not the 1951 type. It is molded so not something I care to make myself, especially as it has borders and other details molded into it. Any ideas where to find one? Yes, I've already tried all the dealers along with Steele and even Metro Molded.

Sounds as though that’s the case but she does get more than some I know.

Can’t have that! She needs to be taken out occasionally and treated like the lady she is by wining and dining her. In this case, probably oil and petrol would do.

Do you mean the front and rear leaf springs?

Edit: Oh, I thought you were asking what's showing under the car.

Re: WANTED - WIRE MAGS

Mags are magnesium (hence the name "mag") or cast aluminum. What you're looking for are wire wheels and I do have a set of five originals but haven't decided yet that I want to sell them and they are at my Oregon shop now anyway.

I have a dealer-installed Motorola radio from one of my former 1940 Packards which is tiny compared to the factory radios.

If that was built from the remains showing in your profile photo, it was a remarkable bit of work! I would love to see photo of the build process.

Looking good! Does the switch have a selfie-canceler? The one in one of my 1940 110s had a rubber wheel that contacted the steering hub behind the wheel to cancel the signals when turning the wheel ahead again so I’m curious if modern units for old cars have that too.
