Re: 1951 Packard 200. Charging/Starting system is Auto-lite. I need a new regulator. I went to the "X-reference index" to see if there is an after market regulator replacement listed. None shown. Can anybody add any more information besides the big three, Max,Kanter,Sandy"?
thanks.

Kind'a sad to see cars of the past looking like that. .........Some of the cars in their old neglected state still look beautiful and desirable. RIP

Anticipating a need for a battery in the future, I called my local NAPA store in Vancouver, WA., and was told they do not stock a 6 volt auto battery, when asked "why", he replied that it's not a "big money maker". Additionally, they can not order them. So be sure to check more than one store to get correct information. My experience with this store is: A lazy store with lazy employees.

I find the pictures overwhelming. I'm filled with joy and sadness at the same time. It makes me proud to have two Packard's that were built at that factory in 1951 and 1953. To see the pictures of the factory during the glory days of the the 20's and 30's juxtaposed to the decline and collapse of the Packard factory of today is disheartening. Thank you for posting the link.
Steve Fisher, proud Packard owner.

Did you check the left side lower dash position for the electric switch that raises and lowers the antenna? If the switch is gone there's going to be a hole in the dash.....or a plugged hole...... Additionally, since the build document isn't available, why don't you just make "it so" and add the elect. antenna? It's was certainly a viable add-on accessory way back in the day, and it's addition does not detract from the car. Heck, get a Delco Wonderbar radio and enjoy the good life. Hope this helps.

After seeing birds on the front seat, a weird rad cap, and a lady sitting? I remembered what somebody posted a few months ago: about putting the cursor on the picture and left click the mouse to magnify the picture.....Upon further magnification I now see (as previously stated) reflected light from the leather seat, and the left side light appearing to be perched on the top of the radiator. As for the lady, it is probably as stated earlier, a pedestrian. Ain't technology grand!

Sorry shadowlette,
I didn't mean for what I said to sound like it read. I went back and expanded my original post. You did nothing wrong. Again, welcome. Regards, Steve Fisher
