I've been told that these are chaplets. What do I do with them? Whack them off, knock them down grind them or ignore them?

Hmmm....Well I'm just trying not to be sorry I didn't_________(fill in the blank)when I had the chance.
The rod bolts look perfect.
I may have no choice.
Thanks again Fred.

Does anyone have a source for connecting rod bolts for a 1945 282 engine. Kanter has none.

Are the 1937 282 crankshafts forged steel? I know Studebaker only had forged steel cranks. Is the same true for Packard?

WDT rear holes

Just can't stay away

Bill Bow
There are what appears to be 4 evenly spaced "pinched" areas. Are they there by design?

There are 2 holes (red circles) in the end of the tube are they supposed to be there or are they supposed to be soldiered closed? If I knew what was down there I might be able to figure it out but I don't.

Thanks Gents

This appears to be red paint on the inside of the engine. It looks like red lead primer from days gone by but I'd like to know if anyone else has any idea what it is.
