Good Morning...Shocks from this company were used on Lincolns in the 1920's and when Henry Ford was designing/building the Model 'A' for 1928, he did not like how the springs functioned on the test cars so he had shocks from this company attached at all four corners...They do make a difference on the Model A...and they seem to work well on our 1949 Deluxe...Ernie in Arizona

Good Packard Morning to you...Just a thought...when we purchased our 1949 deluxe, 288 three on the tree with overdrive, it would stick in second and we would have to disconnect the shifter arms and move them back into natural and re-connect them...a real pain the neck!

We flushed the transmission really, really well and put 140 weight transmission oil in it and we have not had any more trouble. Only God (maybe) knows what was in that transmission when we purchased the car!

One other humble thought...the other day 'Miss Prudence' was stumbling a bit and I found two things. The positive battery terminal had worked loose and there was a bit of junk in the carburetor filter! The old girl just wanted me to pay a bit more attention to her! Ernie in Arizona

Good afternoon all...I wonder if this problem could be connected to the carburetor float or needle valve? Ernie in Arizona
