Ok, if y'all know what it is that's great. Still a good trans and OD unit.

The fact is, I still have a pair of lovely Clipper outside rocker moldings. Don't be scared, be creative. Relays, friends, pick up at Hershey. Going without or spending more on repairs isn't an option, or is it?

I think some of the 33s fit, maybe select 31s. The big 18s are a 1 year only, and artillery wheels at that.

This is a lot like the old "Hold the phone closer to the car..." thing. But there's about 3 things to eliminate before you do forensic surgery. How is the condenser? Sparkling new, as in fresh...from Asia? You sense something in the coil (we know our cars like our bodies sometimes) so instinct may be kicking in. We say "vacuum advance" colloquially most times, but the reality is when vac drops (stab of the go pedal) timing retards. This is done by the point plate moving and its entirely possible it tweaks a wire outta contact momentarily. Could lose ground or primary input/output. If it's not getting proper current the coil can heat and so can the condenser. Too hot, either stops working. Rule those out before you dive into fuel. Vapor lock? I have hot summers and blended fuel (Michigan) and I haven't had vapor lock on anything since the mid 90s. There has to be a really screwed up fuel system to cause it. Random thoughts...

Like it says. Got any? Any leads? The sooner the better. In the style shown, car runs 7.50-18 tires. Thanks in advance for your help.

I ended my pursuit of the unicorn Packard tank. But, 61 Olds station wagon is the exact outside dimensions but 3/8" taller. I have to modify the filler neck and I indented the area needed for spare well clearance. Not easy but I now have a new galvanized tank under the car. Pics when it's all done...

This was on a 9 main 356 (or 359). So, junior? My reference materials stop at 47. How can we verify? No matter what, helluva nice trans here...

As it says, trans is in excellent shape, no chips or rust on the gears, tight quiet bearings, forks are perfect, syncros look great too. Has governor and yoke included. Pilot and splines need nothing.

$650, best picked up in SE Mich, or will deliver to Fastenal on your set up. Pics are big, click for detail. Gear pics show gears rolled over, not a repeat.

Relay. Also, guys are always going dead head somewhere. "Empty trailer heading to Bumflugg, USA..."
Follow some soc media and see who's doing what. Theres a guy on TJJ/HAMB that hauls cars, see what his itinerary is. How bad ya want it?

Shipping woes

I'm sure it's on everyone's mind and making parts purchases a back burner option. 1st, USPS flat rate boxes. I've been including shipping on small items for that reason. 2nd, is it big? Heavy? Fastenal. Yeah, Fastenal. Somebody almost ALWAYS has a Fastenal near them unless you're way out in the middle of a 10,000 acre corn field. The low cost seems like a dream. The only low is you wait for their route. Might be a week before it leaves Detroit for Cincinnati or Atlanta but the cost is downright CHEAP! I had a heavy diagnostic machine sent from Las Vegas not long ago for $63. UPS was $170-something. Be creative. Just a cpl tips from your ol Uncle Jocko. Good luck...

And yes, I put it in parts for sale for what I thought was an obvious reason. If that was wrong, sorry...
