good evening all,
I have a couple of questions about my 36 120 I just recently bought and rather than make many separate posts, I decided to just make on post. Answer what you can, any help is appreciated. 1- What mounts the hood to the car, and does anybody know where I can get a hand on them?(my hood is just sitting on top and often get outs of alignment. 2- Where can I find replacement upholstery (mainly carpet? i cant find a company that goes back to pre war. 3- Anybody have a latch mechanism for the smaller door on the bottom part of the rear of the vehicle?(trunk area) 4- what is supposed to go here(see picture) in these holes on the fender? the previous owner installed these and they are absolutely awful. They scratch the hood every time I open it! yall are the best and i sincerely appreciate any help i can get.

Thank you for the reply. I'm hoping that's what it is and not something wrong with the transmission.

Transmission shifting question

Greetings,
This past weekend I just bought a 1936 Packard 120 8 cylinder. The owner that I bought it from had it sitting in a climate controlled garage since 2012I am in the process of getting it running again. When I was sitting in the car messing around with the gear selector I noticed that I can only go into reverse in first gear on it. I cannot get second or third gear to engage. My question is is this because the gears are not synchronized and I have to be moving in order to get it to go on the second and third gear? Or should I be able to shift through all the gears with the car not in motion? You guys are going to see a lot of me around these parts I appreciate everyone's input and discussion.
