I believe I have the power seats figured out.
There were two problems.

The first was the mounting bolts on one of the motors were too tight. The shaft would not turn at all.
Once I loosened it a little I had movement.

The second problem was, like an idiot, I painted most of the parts of the frame and messed up the ground.
So I have to clean the paint off in a few places.

Worked on the power seat some today.
My Painless wire harness has a few spare circuits and one of them is 30 amp for an A/C.

I pulled the motors off and tested them using that circuit and they worked fine.

I tried turning the seat movements manually with the motors off and the backward movement was pretty tight.

It may be binding where it is circled in the first image. Not sure how to fix that. I am hoping the seat frame is just a little too far forward or backward on one side.

The second image shows the shaft and how far I still have to go to move the seat backwards.

“Overheated” may have been a poor choice of words although, we did see a little smoke.

The manual states that the seat motors have a built-in breaker that will trip if they get hot so I pulled “overheated” from that.

I had the motors checked out by a local, motor repair company last summer. I wrote about it here in my blog. So, I believe the two motors be in good working order.

I am just trying to piece this issue together. As stated here several time, The electrical (especially these motors) are not my super power.

The motors turned maybe 1 revolution before it stopped.

I will try to figure out if there is a binding issue.

I asked this a few nights ago but never got a response.

How much power do the power seat motors require?

I wired them up over the weekend using the original relays as shown in the image but it overheated the motors real-quick.

Yes, I know about the keys.

The ignition key that I have did not fit the doors and the glove box key did not fit the trunk.
All should be good now. I'll let you know.

I received a pair of tires this week. I'll order another pair soon, gotta watch my budget.

The locksmith called today and said all my locks are ready. It will be a few days before I can get up there to get them. I had forgotten that a couple of years ago I bought a glove box lock and key on eBay. So, I have a pair of keys but the doors and trunk need to be changed to match.

Question, how much power do the power seats require? I wired them up over the weekend and ran it through the original relays as it was designed but it overheated the motors real quick.

I see what you guys are saying. I will move it forward this weekend but this carpet is not going to cover all the area as the original carpet pictured above.

I purchased it online from StockInteriors.com. The cost was about $430.

I am going to visit a locksmith in the next few days to discuss the locks. I will do that before purchasing anything.

I am not impressed with the carpet that I received. I got it about a month ago but just took it out of the box yesterday. I don't know why the front portion is cut at an angle, down the sides, as you can see in the picture. I guess I am going to have to cut that excess off to make it work correctly.

Thanks for that Howard. I have not even looked at the wiper motor yet. Just trying to get it all on the road and then will work on that.

On another subject. I have one key for the whole car right now. It's for the ignition.

What is my best way forward here?

Can I order all new lock cylinders or can a local locksmith put something together with my cylinders?

The first images are of the vacuum lines I was concerned about. If I understand correctly the first image shows the metal line that runs to the top/rear of the head and only sticks up about an inch or so. That line runs to the wind washer motor.

The second image shows the metal T that comes out of the back of the carb. I have the Olds pump so its not needed. Do I need to block that off?

Got the headlights working today.
I am missing the small parts that connect the 2 pieces together.

The last image is of the engine breather. I want to put a paper filter in there. Does anyone have part number for one?
