Thanks.
I think i might use the diodes for the gauges this will make it easier as I can just run them from the fuse box that i have installed on the inside of the firewall as i am rewiring the whole car from scratch!! I have installed a new 12 volt coil and changed the wires around. I will make some enquiries at my local auto elect and see if he can convert the starter over. If i just change the polarity on the gauges will that work?

Do i need to change anything in tegards to going from a positive ground to negative ground? And will my amp meter work if i just change the polarity?

Hi was just wanting to know what could be the most likely cause for a very smoky engine.
It blows a large amount of WHITE smoke all the time. Was thinking it may not actually be a ring problem. This is for a friend who has recently purchased the 1938 120 sedan and he was un able to obtain any history from the previous owner, car has been restored at some stage, so more than likely the engine has had a rebuild.

It goes inti the manifold or the bottom of the carbi.
And yes it does smoke on start up but not all the time I just put that down to it needing a good "blow out" down the road! So how long should that fluid last and what fluid would i top it up with? Would it be an upper cylinder lube that you buy for cars that are on gas (Lpg)?
