Re: 1942 tune-up issue

Just look down the carb. and work the throttle linkage fast wide open. You should see gas being sprayed from the jets. If not your accelerator pump isn't working. (Engine off is fine.) If you do se gas being squirted then the accelerator is working and you will have to move on from there.

Check in the back of the "Serviceman's Training Book: Engine Diagnosis and Tune-Up" for more help.

Kevin, my hat is off to you! Excellent way to review a problem finding and fixing it. Too many times people take the shotgun approach and just start replacing any and everything hoping to hit the target.
Good going!

Dell, You caught me, I got the whole unit mixed up with the individual sockets. Thanks on the offer for the Directional Signal Switch, but just got mine rewired and Ops. Checked Good.

Still soaking the Brake/Tail Light Sockets in Evapo-rust and will go from there in a day or two.
Thanks again and I will keep you in mine.

Gusha, looks like a little plagiarism between the last post you did The Sunday News Ridgewood 12 Nov. 1939 and The Philadelphia Inquirer 10 Dec. 1939, post 182.

Thanks all for the help and information. For now I'm only short one Drivers Side Brake and Directional Signal Socket but I do have a couple of spare that I'm hoping I can get one to work. It's more the internal springs have lose there spring.
Howard it looks like that gasket goes on the outside of the house just under the spring-able ring on the outside of the housing.
Dell let me see what happens first with what I've got and thanks.

Getting ready to rewire my Directional Signal Switch, found my old link so I can get started on that.

Still looking for one good light socket for my Brakes and Directional Signal Lights out of all the rusted parts I have.

Just to show how rusted it is I'm uploading a photo of what is left of the License Plate Light.

Also showing a photo of the Passengers Side Brake and Directional Signal Light, since it looks like it is different from the other three.

Kevin, I don't know if you've seen this but it has some good information of the frame work for the 24th series, maybe helpful.
