@BigKev - would you happen to recall the page number or month/year you the rear brakes appear in your thread?

I've been searching through but haven't come
Across it yet but, while doing so I found a link you posted for
Light bulbs to be used after a 12v conversion - the link was dead and I'm wondering if you recall where the link led to?

I am soon doing a 12v conversion and this would help a bunch, thanks!

I Realized last night what a saving grace this site is as I struggled to unsuccessfully try and remove my rear hubs.

I realize I need to adjust the stat wheel but can't figure out how even after ready the service manual which says to "remove the adjusting hole covers
From the backing plate" but don't know which bolts to remove to do so.

Any help in getting this hub off is greatly appreciated!!!

PS: I want to document for the benefit of those that may be in need of the bolt pattern for a 1951 Packard 200
Sedan - it is in fact a 5x4.75 pattern.

There wasn't anything definitive I could find anywhere that stated this information. Many stated the pattern was 5x4.5, including the Detroit based outfit that fabricated my wheels. Soon after getting my wheels back
from fab., then off for powder coating I realized they are 5x4.75

You are too kind Sir, I certainly appreciate your willingness to share your knowledge, it's been invaluable throughout this project.

After hearing my goal with this 200, My friend suggested I come on a packard site - he said "Packard fella's are purists but they will
appreciate what you want to do with the car"... the kind words of encouragement and support from you and other Packard elder statesmen makes this project even more satisfying.

Thank you again

Hi Don, the picture is the surround that I recently picked up (53) with my 51
Center piece (notice how the bottom portion of the center is not connected and dangling)

When I purchased the car it had the 52 surround which has all the correct attachment points but, also had the emblem mounting holes you referenced

Also got a grill piece off a 53, not realizing it is quite a bit different than the 51 assembly - not sure what to do about this one because my piece is in very poor condition and the new one is almost showncar condition as you can see from the close up shots

Apologies in advance to those not favoring the disc
Conversion but, here's some of the updates from this weekend with bearing part numbers for any that this may help

I know the swan wasn't on the '51 - I recently acquired the correct jet in new condition and when I came across the show condition swan firm next to nothing I had to pick it up
