i am learning how to use the Forums , but i need to know how to identify the right UltraMatic for my 52 200 deluxe. A dead Packard collector with a stack of blocks cranks and transmissions and whatever. I am going out to get a replacemnet Ultramatic and a 327 nine bearing block. all the cranks are stacked leaning and the blocks the same. i can identify the block and cranks " kxxxx? but rods? what about the ultramatics? what am i looking for there? everything is covered in protective grease so it is a good find. I am just trying to find out about identifying Ultramatics , one from another. 52 aS OPPOSED to ?

I love Ponca City!

I found a barn with a pile of Packard blocks cranks and stuff. i am going to go back and get a nine bearing 327 for my 52' ( mine has a 51 288 that replaced what was original) I want to put what i think was original in my 52 Deluxe which was the 327. but i am not sure of the casting numbers to look for other than the THUNDERBOLT 327 AT on the head. if anybody knows more about this let me know. WHERE DID YOU GET THAT FINNED ALUMINUM HEAD??
also there is bunch of Engines and transmission and all kind stuff that the nice lady is getting rid of ( Packard collector Husband passed to Heaven). i will give you her number if any body gets back to this post.

Thanks

That is a nice Clipper but i wanted to post that i was just out in Temecula at Nancy's place where her husband has passed on to the great Beyond. Her dear husband was a Packard man, the barn is full of Packard parts. blocks cranks , straights and V-8's , the cars are already gone. a waist high pile of distributors a hubs etc. a whole wall of Drama'matics. I am going out there again to get a replacement trans and a 327 thunderbolt as soon as i figure out the right numbers to get the right one for my 200 deluxe 52, Mine has a 51 288 and i want a 52 327, i will give you her number if you all get back to this post.

that is my ol girl in the Picture
