Thanks for the info.
I decided to risk damaging part of the interior and removed a section of a side panel that is mostly hidden. I was amazed that I found all of the side panels, fabric beads and headliner are all stapled in place with 1/2"x1/2" modern staples into a black heavy cardboard. I have two questions: Does anyone know where I can get more of the material that was used to tack/staple the liners to this black cardboard? I assume it might have been a tar impregnated card/fiber board. Does a new headliner cost a lot of money? It took me 3 hours to remove about 3 feet of door/headliner with the current staples every 1/4" apart. Staples are installed separately for each layer of material. If a new headliner is a couple hundred dollars, it will be gone in 10 minutes. Thanks for your help.

Any thoughts on why my brakes would fade to the floor?
The prior owner removed the booster from the circuit... I rebuilt the master, booster and bled each line. I worked great for several weeks and now the pedal will go to the floor. No brake fluid at any of the connection points and fluid has not been topped off since I rebuilt them. I am going to re-bleed the lines again (to make triple sure there is no air in the lines) but I thought I would ask to make sure I am not chasing a ghost.

I am rewiring the back half of my 1940 and was wondering if someone has an understanding of how I remove the read side panels on each side of the car. I have already removed the rear seat and unbolted and removed the back of the rear seat.
Thanks for your input. Gar

There used to be one on EBAY about 3 weeks ago. I think the guy was asking $1500.
Good luck

Tim:
My drums were turned and trued last fall. I also had all of the shoes replaced and all of the components lubed/packed (where appropriate), new springs installed and all cables cleaned and inspected. The car stops reasonably straight (very little left pull) as long as I don't hit the brakes too hard. How much slack should be in the spring shackles? Right now I have about 1 to 2 inches. Thanks
